Nail polish & nail art has become my #1 obsession in the past year. And I'm thrilled to share this obsession, along with tips & tricks I've picked up along the way with everyone.
Born and raised in Singapore, most of my time is consumed by work and family/ social obligations. But whatever precious leisure time I can afford, I spend them on polishing and/or blogging. Hence, the irregularity and lack of blog posts.
Evolution of an Obsession
Initially, I was toying with the idea of jewellery-making as a hobby and a small business. As I researching online, I came across GingerKittyDesigns who, as far as I know, created jewellery pieces using nail polish. Some of the colours intrigued me and I was shocked to eventually learn the collector's value of some of the discontinued polishes.
I was somehow swept into the world of YouTube, where I got to know that TONS of nail polish addicts exist. Some of their collections got me desiring many polishes and I soon began an addiction of my own.
I am most active on Twitter (and now Instagram), where I've met some friendly fellow nail polish addicts, and picked up lots of information, advise, trends etc. I used to only be exposed to well-known brands such as OPI, China Glaze, Essie, Revlon, but Twitter conversations have opened me up to a much wider range of other international and indie polish brands available out there, some much more amazing than the mentioned brands.
My photos are taken with an iPhone (3GS for posts before November 2011, 4S for posts after November 2011) or Nikon S8000. No fancy setups, just enough lighting to get the colours photographed as accurately as possible.
